With different settings and
varying responsibilities, the nursing career is full of opportunities. As the
health-care system is evolving and new delivery models are coming forefront,
many nursing schools are preparing their students for the changes to occur.
These days, many students
want to build their career in the medical field, and this is the reason that
the demand for nursing programs is increasing. If you are looking to build a
successful career as a nurse, there are a number of options and courses offered
by the Azure College.
The responsibility of a nurse
differs by unit or specialization, but most of them share similarities over variations.
The nursing field offers rewarding career opportunities at the educational
level. Some of the popular nursing programs are listed:
Licensed
Vocational Nursing
This program is an entry-level
nurse program for Licensed Vocational Nursing and licensed practical nurses,
and the LVN and LPN are dictated by its characteristics than the job function.
This program provides basic patient care, although specific duties are assigned
by the state board of nursing. Monitoring, dressing, feeding or bathing
patients are some of the responsibilities the vocational nurses serve. Though several
states permit practical nurses to administer some medications, they should have
completed the certificate or associate degree of nursing and have cleared
NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses).
Registered
Nurse
In the nursing profession,
registered nurses are prevailing and they frequently served as the pivot for
patient care. They are assigned to work with the physician and they also serve
as a liaison between physicians and patients or their attendees. The board
certification allows the registered nurses to become specialized in areas like oncology,
geriatrics, critical care, neurology, and other health disciplines. The general
requirement for these nurses is to have at least an associate degree, but some
of the employers want them to have a bachelor’s degree. Like the licensed
vocational nurses, the registered nurses need to complete the accredited
nursing program and also pass (NCLEX-RN) the National Council Licensure Exam
for Registered Nurses.
Associated
Degree Nursing
This nursing program allows
aspiring nursing students to obtain the knowledge and skills that are required
to become a registered nurse. Some licensed vocational nurses and licensed
practical nurses also earn this degree to gain a competitive edge for a job or
to advance their administrative and registered nursing careers.
Combining academics with
clinical experience in healthcare agencies, communities, and the local
hospitals, students acquire basic knowledge of general science course. The Azure College, Fort Lauderdale, Florida offers this program and on
completion of this program, the student will receive an Associate of Science
Degree in Nursing and will be certified to the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON).
They determine the student’s eligibility to appear for (NCLEX-RN) the National
Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
It takes a team of medical professionals
to maintain a nation’s health care needs, and nurses are the key players who
keep this system up and running.
